The Dormeo Memory Deluxe Mattress
This was probably one of the first reviews that I posted onto YouTube that wasn't just the product sat in front of the camera and me talking behind it. I thought that as it is something that people are going to be spending a large portion of their life on, I should endeavour to give as much information as possible, to help out (and also I had been deliberating over buying it for nearly three months myself so I knew buying a mattress wasn't an easy choice!!)
Having tried to do as much research as possible, I found there was a distinct lack of information on this mattress, other than on the Dormeo website and those of the sellers. I'd seen it on sale at Costco previously at £199 (down from around £350 which was still cheaper than other sellers) so decided to hang on until it came on offer again, and when it did, I snapped it up!
Delivered within about 3 days, I couldn't wait to get it used. You can see in the video that it comes in a box that is far smaller than the size of the mattress but this is because it is vacuum pack for transport. Once all the packaging is removed and the air gets into it, you are still supposed to leave it for up to 24 hours for it to expand fully.
The construction of the mattress is primarily 2 types of foam. The main support and firmness coming from 16cm of Ecocell foam and the piece de resistance for the comfort factor, coming from the 4cm of Memory Foam on the top. It offers protection from dust mites (which is good if you have asthma like me but washing your pillows is advisable if you are allergic to them to) and has all the require FIRA fire safety. I had read somewhere that a purely foam mattress can lead to a build up in heat and affect sleeping but I haven't suffered from that at all in the last year and a half since purchasing. It is heavy though so you need two people to put it in place and probably two for turning it as well.
This mattress replaced a Silent Night sprung mattress that had cost considerably more than this one 15 years early so that was a concern as well, do you need to spend a lot for a good nights sleep.
Down to the crux of it, this turned out to be one of the comfiest I had ever slept on. From first getting in and feeling a slow sinking into the memory foam that almost embraces you, to waking up and not wanting to get out of bed, this is a perfect mattress for me and my wife. The one it replaced used to squeak and groan when you made the slightest movement but not this one. If I get up earlier then my wife now or visa versa, there is hardly any movement of the mattress to wake the other person up, along with the fact that it is silent means the other person is undisturbed and allowed to carry on their slumber. There was also a certain amount of 'role to' on the sprung mattress, again non of that with this. Having lived with it for some time now, there is no degredation in the mattress, it's as comfy now as it was on the first night. As for any Con's, well I haven't actually got any, probably one of the best buys I've made to say it impacts on your life so much. The only thing I'll say is that it is at the top end of firm because it is all foam. Since purchasing this one, I got another Kingsize mattress for the spare bed, this one is pocket sprung and Memory Foam and you can tell that there is more 'bounce' in that one, but again, quite and no roll to.

If you want to hold out until you find this on sale you may be waiting for some time but I would have happily paid more for it if I had know the positive impact it was going to have on my sleep!
